Yes we have been deemed “essential” and we are still cleaning, AND we are taking very strict precautions. So we are still cleaning, but with these updated protocols:

  • Cleaners who are feeling sick or who have been in contact with anyone who they know to have been sick are staying home, and thanks to the generosity of our wonderful clients we can provide sick pay to them.
  • We are wearing masks and gloves –We are taking our temperatures 2-4 times a day
  • We ask clients to leave the area where we are working while we are there.
  • We are disinfecting all high-touch surfaces As always, we wash our hands throughout the day, including at the end and beginning of each job, and after cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, and we use fresh cleaning cloths in each room.

To preserve our economic health, we are waiting for the government to come through with its forgivable loan package still no sign of a check.

And worst of all, the two employees we did lay off have been denied unemployment benefits EVEN THOUGH we have always paid into unemployment insurance for all employees. One of them we rehired part-time, and we are working with John Moffat of Pima County to look into the case of the other. We wish everyone in the whole world the best in these difficult times.
